Of King Triton’s daughters, Ariel is the least willing to accept the limits placed on her. She is drawn to the world above the waves, and a visit to the surface deepens that fascination when she falls for Prince Eric. The rules of her kingdom forbid contact with humans, so Ariel takes an offer from Ursula that lets her find out what life on shore is like. What looks like an opportunity comes with consequences that threaten her own survival and place her father’s rule in jeopardy.
