After discovering his wife (Keiko Saito) in a strip rock-paper-scissors game with a stranger wearing only boxer shorts and Mickey Mouse ears, a hard-driving copywriter (Hiroyuki Sanada) brawls with the man, and they fall down several flights of a concrete stairwell. An ambulance takes the copywriter to a private teaching hospital, where a young internist (Hiroko Yakushimaru) faces her first emergency room case. Her nervous "Good Evening" and a syringe jammed into his wound begin a chain of absurd medical misery that binds the two men and the blundering nurse together.
