Michal and Blanka are happily married until a regrettable misunderstanding causes Blanka to leave home with their young son. Michal never finds the letter explaining her departure. Though he would normally wait for things to resolve, he faces pressure from his parents, neighbor, mother-in-law, and good friends, all urging immediate divorce. After a week, the truth emerges when Michal finds Blanka's note and realizes how little he trusted her and how easily he believed others.
