Plot
Warning: spoilers
This film examines Bolivia as a microcosm of the tensions surrounding drug production and consumption. It contrasts the traffickers and politicians with the peasants and unemployed ex-miners who rely on the drug economy to avoid starvation and absolute misery. On the other side, technicians, aid workers, and foreign experts attempt to persuade the peasants to stop growing drugs, encapsulating North-South relations.
