Drawing on Milovan Đilas's "Nova Klasa," the film explores how onetime revolutionaries turn into petty bourgeois, trying to mimic the classical bourgeois class in Serbia that they had destroyed through genocide, ethnocide, culturocide, and urbanocide—yet only reaching a provincial level. Their world echoes Branislav Nušić's comedies, with the quasi-elite enjoying the characters and situations and recognizing themselves. Two horses before the National Assembly try in vain to stop other "horses" from entering, and the absurdity in today's assembly surpasses even Nušić's imagination.
